Established in 1984, Load Technology, Inc.; LOADTEC®, is a full-line manufacturer and seller of high-quality power testing equipment known as load banks. A load bank is an electrical apparatus used to verify the performance of an electrical power source. The most common application for the equipment is to provide an exercise "load" for standby emergency generators. These emergency generators are typically installed at hospitals, hotels, office buildings, skyscrapers, water treatment facilities, data centers, large retail facilities, and other such sites. The load banks provide a precise and stable electrical load for the generators. The electrical load created by load banks allow verification of the performance of the generator on a scheduled maintenance interval. Emergency generator performance tests are required by National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and other local and state municipalities or codes. Many other applications for load banks exist other than standby generator testing. The generator manufacturers require load banks for research and design programs as well as production testing. The military utilizes load banks in various applications such as testing of power supplies and generators for aircraft, frequency convertors, submarines, and missile defense systems. Computer and network Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) also require load bank testing of both the inverter and battery inputs. LOADTEC's headquarters in Mesquite, Nevada handles all aspects of its operations. This facility houses sales, design, engineering, fabrication, painting, assembly, research, and testing departments. All administration, client relations, and technical support is also housed at the headquarters. LOADTEC® provides and sells products worldwide directly from our headquarters, as well as through our network of distributors and independent contracted sales representatives in their respective territories. In addition, LOADTEC® also designs microprocessor-based control and data acquisition systems that are exclusively integrated into LOADTEC® Load Banks. These data acquisition systems are designed in-house with board level circuitry design and circuit board layout. LOADTEC® headquarters completes software development including operating system code, firmware code, and application code development for its digital controls and data acquisition intergration into LOADTEC® Load Banks. |
Most LOADTEC® Load Banks are project-specific and designed, engineered, and constructed based on the clients' requirements and specifications. The complete product is designed, engineered, fabricated, manufactured, and shipped from our headquarters. LOADTEC® obtains large sheets of steel and fabricates the enclosures through its network of CNC machine tool equipment and highly-trained fabricators on-site. The enclosure pieces are designed using the latest CAD/CAM software and engineering practices. Welding operations are also conducted on-site using fully-trained AWS certified welders. All industrial coatings are applied using the latest economically-friendly waterborne paints and coatings in an advanced coating environment. Final assembly is carefully conducted using a conscientious and dedicated staff of quality-conscious and trained staff members using advanced tools and techniques proven for over 28 years of load bank manufacturing. |
